Online Gambling and AML Agreement

The EU’s gambling regulatory authorities signed an agreement on online gambling services. The agreement, which the Commission claims is a world’s first, covers areas including the supervision of compliance with national laws, consumer protection, money laundering and fraud, and match-fixing.

The industry, for its part, is on board. EGBA, an online gambling association, said in a statement that cross-border cooperation would allow for the structural exchange of information and best practices and reduce unnecessary administrative burdens.
